Kreditkartenprobleme II von N-A am 1. Okt 2005, 10:20 |

Doug Loumbardi äußerte sich zu den abgelehnten Kreditkarten:
"I apologize to everyone that has experienced problems making purchases through Steam in the last few days. I am out of the office for a couple of days due to a family emergency and was unaware that the problem had become so out of hand.
Because we had to wait until we released DoD:S before we processed our pre-orders we submitted *a LOT* of orders all at once. Because of this, we basically let everyone who ordered play until their credit card was charged. If you card failed for any reason, we shut the game off (rather than not let youplay until your card was approved.
As expected, a percentage of the credit card transactions were rejected either on the banks end (bad address information, missing or wrong CVV2, etc.) or on our end.
Please be patient. Unfortunately we have to handle each customer on a case-by-case basis the speed of which is dictated by the accuracy and amount of information is included with each ticket. The fix for this problem on our end is currently 100% manual. The entire Support Staff is working on this.
If you received a message saying that your card was declined, your card WAS NOT (and will not be) charged (regardless of what your bank is telling you). The bank will reserve the amount as soon as the transaction is submitted, if you fail either the CVV2 match or the AVS match that we get from your bank, the transaction is declined by us. The reserve will fall off in a couple of days (the bank is in no hurry since they make money on the float).
If you are still having a billing issue and have not received a response back from support, please make sure you log in to your incident and make sure that you have provided ALL of your relevant information (especially Steam account name). Again I apologize for the inconvenience and I appreciate everyones patience. The Support crew will be working everyday to get through the backlog.
DougV
p.s. I am going to close all of the other billing threads."
Laut diesem Statement, wird die Karte mit großer Sicherheit nicht belastet, wenn sie per Email abgelehnt wurde.
